Beginners Classes (Currently not scheduled)
The course runs for eight weeks. Each session runs three hours. The cost of the course includes an instruction book. The cost varies depending on the number of students. The supply list is below. A minimum of ten students is necessary to hold the class.

Beginning Quilting Classes
This class will cover all the beginning basics necessary for quilting. In the course of the eight sessions we will complete a 40 1/2” X 40 1/2” sampler Wallhanging. We will be using the “Start Quilting with Alex Anderson” book which is included in your class fee.
Supply List: " Rotary Cutter (45mm) " Rotary Mat - the bigger the better (minimum size 18” X 24”) " Rotary Ruler - 3” X 24” or 6” X 24” " Scissors - (small and sharp) and (large fabric shears) " Quilting straight pins - long, sharp pins with round ends " Good quality thread for sewing - a neutral tan or gray to match your fabrics " Seam ripper " Steam iron " Sewing machine - must have working knowledge of your machine, have extra bobbins and needles with you (You will not need your machine on the first day, but bring everything else)
Fabric*: (Choose 100% cotton fabrics - no stripes or one-way directional prints) " 1 yard for outer border " 1/4 yard for inner border " 3/8 yard for binding " 1 1/4 yard for backing " 6 different fabrics (medium to dark in color) - 1/3 yard each " 6 different fabrics (light in color) - 1/3 yard each The border, binding, and backing fabrics should coordinate or be the same as some of the other fabrics used.
Needed for week three: (items will be discussed in class and may be purchased later) Thin batting 1 1/4 yards (approximately 42” X 42”)
